Nexus 5 benchmark result appears on GFXBench. GPU performance on par with iPhone 5s

OEM for Google, LG has previously claimed that the new Google Nexus 5 smartphone will be released around the October 14 period. Additionally, they also said that there will be different version which will be launched on 30th October. Whichever the date, we are sure that the new phone will definitely come next month. Putting launch dates aside, let's take a look at some performance results of the Nexus 5 which have leaked.

On GFXBench, the leaked results consist of T-REX HD C24Z16-Offscreen and Egypt HD C24Z16-Offscreen results. This is compared to Sony Xperia Z1, LG G2, Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A and Apple's iPhone 5/5s :

Other than the off the charts results from Galaxy S4 because of its higher clocked CPU and "cheated" tweaks to the phone, the other devices scored similarly. Nexus 5's performance is not far away from iPhone 5s'. Additionally, this Nexus 5 is probably an engineering unit, meaning that performance should be better when launched.

On the other hand, it seems that Nexus 5 scored lower in AnTuTu 4.0. Nexus 5 only scored a score of 23,345. More optimizations to the released device should increase these scores.

According to previous news, Nexus 5 will be equipped with a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and comes with 2GB of RAM. It has a 5 inch 1080p display with an 8 megapixel camera and has a battery capacity of 2300mAh, running Android KitKat 4.4.

It's obvious that the nexus 5 would be the iPhone 5s killer. Google anticipated this and they are countering Apple with their own flagship phone. They always release a better phone and sell it at a lower price. That's why they always come up on top.
