HP Introduces IT Management Solution for SMBs
HP Touchpoint Manager lets SMBs manage devices, users and data easily and affordably

SINGAPORE, 13 Nov, 2014 — HP has announced HP Touchpoint Manager, a cloud-based solution designed specifically for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) to manage their IT environments more quickly and effectively.

HP Touchpoint Manager offers SMBs a one-stop IT management application to keep devices operational, data secure, and IT staff more productive. It is able to manage most operating systems - iOS, Android and Windows, devices and form factors.

For SMBs, IT is no longer homogenous to a single operating system or form factor. IT has to oversee and manage a very diverse infrastructure, which can include phones, tablets, PCs and workstations; Android, iOS, Windows operating systems; devices provided by the company, or devices brought in from home. Managing the company IT environment can therefore become complex and problematic.

With HP Touchpoint Manager, SMBs can do more than reactively respond to IT issues. HP Touchpoint Manager provides administrators a simple, web-based dashboard that enables a comprehensive, proactive level of 24/7 IT support to:
  • Monitor the inventory and health of devices
  • Remotely lock and wipe devices to help prevent unauthorized access to company data in the event of device loss or theft
  • Automatically apply security and policy settings
  • Communicate proactive alerts so IT administrators can quickly troubleshoot and prevent employee and device down-time
  • Perform password and pin resets
  • Enable IT management from the office or on-the-go

Offered through pay-per-use subscription, HP Touchpoint Manager provides SMBs with more predictable IT costs and flexibility to accommodate changes in their business needs.

In addition, it reduces the need for multiple point solutions that can be costly and time consuming to learn, as well as increases the lifespan of devices by alerting SMBs of potential hard drive failures, security holes or battery failures.

There is also additional functionality within HP Touchpoint Manager if the organisation uses HP devices, with deeper insight into the hardware health, device warranty information, and some special features in certain models, such as “Always On” out-of-band find, lock and wipe.

The Basic version of HP Touchpoint Manager will be offered at a limited six-month introductory price of US$0 per user, per month. A Pro version with additional functionality is available for US$5 per user, per month for the first six months. SMBs can sign up for HP Touchpoint Manager at www.hp.com/Touchpoint.
