ASUS GeForce GTX 960 DC Mini leaked - Only 170mm long

The leak of the up and coming ASUS GeForce GTX 960 DirectCu Mini has been making the rounds across the internet. This new product will be a great addition to the DirectCu Mini family, maintaining its length of 17cm like any previous DirectCu Mini product.

Currently, there are only 3 products in the DirectCu Mini product line. They are namely a GTX 670, a GTX 760 and GTX 970. ASUS has given the new GTX 970 DirectCu Mini a model number of GTX960-MOC-2GD5.

In fact, this move from ASUS was quite expected. The specifications and use of parts on the ASUS Strix GTX 960 can all be placed within a 170mm PCB. The layout could easily create a DirectCu Mini product. Of course, a suitable cooling solution was the only factor to realise this product.

Below is the specifications of GTX960-MOC-2GD5 :

In terms of its specifications, GTX960 DirectCu Mini is a bit slower than the Gaming variant Strix GTX 960. Its Boost Clock is as 1253MHz compared to 1317MHz and its memory clock is at 7010MHz as compared to 7200MHz. Of course, it's a heat issue as the smaller cooler could not contain as much heat. Nonetheless, it is still faster than a reference design GTX 960 which is bigger in size.
