Optus Business selects NEC as a partner for professional services panel

Melbourne, 04 August, 2015 – NEC Australia, a leading technology solutions and services company, has been appointed to Optus Business’ panel for technical professional services and telephony infrastructure services.

NEC Australia will deliver professional technical services for Optus Business, in both general project management and engineering, as well as telephony infrastructure services.

Specifically, the panel will streamline Optus Business’ interactions with suppliers, while delivering improved cost transparency and governance to ensure compliance. The panel is also supported by a structured process that will help standardise the terms of an engagement.

Most importantly, key suppliers will have proven they are capable of aligning with Optus Business’ customer commitments.

“Optus is committed to developing high performance partnerships that support the standards we set for ourselves and on behalf of our customers in relation to their evolving ICT needs,” said Ian Smith, Vice President Managed Services and Delivery, Optus Business.

Optus Business expects the panel will result in competitive costs, higher levels of performance and productivity, more transparent and simplified engagements, reduced time to market, and world class delivery in terms of quality and efficiency.

Bob Lanigan, NSW State Manager at NEC Australia said: “NEC’s appointment to the Optus panel validates our IT services-led strategy in Australia backed by deep and broad local skills and global leadership in telecommunications technologies.”

NEC Australia’s unique mix of technical expertise, geographical coverage, and specialised knowledge in managed services and communications, made it an ideal partner to Optus Business’s professional services.
