Epson Singapore Kicks Off Grassroots Outreach Efforts For Local Football As The Gold Sponsor for Geylang International Football Club



Singapore, 11 February 2016 – Epson, a world leader in digital imaging and printing solutions, yesterday announced a one-year sponsorship with local football club, Geylang International FC. As the official Gold Sponsor for the football club, Epson’s sponsorship aims to support the team’s efforts in reaching out to the community.

An official ceremony was held yesterday at Safra Tampines, with a signing ceremony by Mr Toshimitsu Tanaka, Managing Director of Epson Singapore, and Mr Ben Teng, Chairman of Geylang International Football Club. The ceremony was also witnessed by Ms Tin Pei Ling, MP for Macpherson SMC and the club’s new advisor. The sponsorship marks Epson’s latest efforts in its outreach to the local community, as well as to contribute actively to the local football scene, following its three-year sponsorship for the Football Association of Singapore, which will run till August 2016.

As part of the sponsorship, Epson will provide Geylang International FC with its printing and imaging equipment and services to support the running operations and training facilities of the club.

“It has been a fruitful collaboration with the local football community since we embarked on our efforts to help raise awareness of the hard work and the sporting values that are the foundation for sports excellence, especially in team sports. Promoting values such as confidence, discipline, the importance of teamwork and the drive to exceed expectations are in line with our regional CSR efforts to support Youth Development. We are honoured to come on-board again, and look forward to working closely to support a local team – by working with a Club with strong community outreach efforts like Geylang International, raising awareness and nurturing aspiring sports talents as they make their forays in the one of world’s best loved sports,” said Toshimitsu Tanaka, Epson Singapore’s Managing Director.

The sponsorship is in line with Epson’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts regionally to support Youth Development, and to give back to communities in local markets.
