SINGAPORE, 1 June 2016 – Canon Singapore today announced the launch of the VB-M50B and VB-H651V, two new indoor high performance network security cameras equipped with new imaging technology to deliver high quality images, even in challenging low-light conditions. Both indoor cameras are ideal for round-the-clock surveillance, to ensure heightened security for critical infrastructure, and in public areas, retail spaces, and commercial buildings.
“Canon continues to drive innovations in the surveillance sector with our imaging expertise,” said Edwin Teoh, Head of Marketing, Singapore Operations, Canon Singapore. “The network security cameras are equipped with highly sensitive CMOS sensor and the Clear IR Mode, to achieve high definition videos even in extreme low-light conditions. Their best-in-class low light performance helps boost security in challenging environments where they are needed the most.”
VB-M50B supports excellent long-range visibility
The new VB-M50B is a highly sensitive, 1.3 million pixels Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) network camera. Equipped with a lens focal length of 600 mm (35mm film equivalent), the VB-M50B is suited for long-range optical zoom (up to five times zoom).
The camera’s large aperture ratio of F1.8 (W) – F2.4 (T) works together with its highly sensitive CMOS sensor and powerful Canon DIGIC DVIII image processor to capture clear and colour accurate videos, even at high magnification. The camera can reproduce colour videos down to 0.04 lux1 and monochrome videos down to 0.002 lux[1],
The VB-M50B is equipped with multiple image enhancement features such as Clear IR Mode, which allows only infrared light to pass through to the image sensor. This contributes to the camera’s ability to produce high definition monochrome images regardless of day or night, and also in challenging environments.
With the VB-M50B, users will be able to discern a subject in full color at a distance of 100 meters, even in low-light environments. This is a feat that would prove challenging for the naked eye, underscoring why the VB-M50B is ideal for situations requiring 24-hour surveillance, covert intelligence, and security in environments with dim lighting.
The swift and precise pan and tilt mechanism offers a high level of user convenience and comprehensive area coverage. Users may establish up to 64 pre-set camera positions and schedule up to five pre-set routes, thus eliminating the need for repeated manual adjustments.
Wider coverage area in Full HD with the VB-H651V
The VB-H651V is the successor to the VB-M641V.This premium fixed dome network camera now comes with a wider horizontal angle of view of up to 122.1 degrees in Full HD resolution. With an Impact Protection (IK) 10 Vandal Resistance Rating, the VB-H641V is robust indoor network camera that can withstand tampering or impact.
Equipped with cutting-edge Super UD lens technology, an optical zoom of 2.4 times, and a large aperture of F1.2 (W) – F1.8 (T), the VB-M641V is capable of recording high definition colour and monochrome images at as low as 0.035 lux and 0.002 lux respectively. Coupled with its wide-angle coverage, it is a versatile network camera suited for large areas, that will deliver stellar performance even in dim conditions.
Dynamic adjustments for enhanced performance
To further enhance usability, both models include the Motion Adaptive Noise Reduction and Area-specific Data Size Reduction features designed to help reduce data size while maintaining image quality.
The new network cameras are equipped with ONVIF Profile S and G compatibility, enabling easy configuration with varied video management software (VMS) solutions. In addition, the Camera Viewer and Mobile Viewer tools supports compatibility with mobile devices, ensuring that end users have options to access surveillance footage at any time.
A built-in SD memory Card slots also supports SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards to provide an alternative means of saving live images and H.264 videos.
Availability
The new VB-M50B and VB-H561V are now available at all authorised Canon distributors.
