Microsoft unveils new technology innovations at Worldwide Partner Conference 2016

Earlier on Day 2 of Worldwide Partner Conference 2016, Microsoft made a series of announcements pertaining to technology innovations and upcoming news disclosures to drive new business opportunities across the partner ecosystem.

More than 90 percent of Microsoft revenues come through partners, and the keynotes earlier this morning covered a breadth of new developments across our core business groups:
-        Updates on the Microsoft Cloud, including
o   Windows Server 2016 and System Center 2016 will be generally available later this year
o   Azure AQL Data Warehouse is generally available todaybringing true cloud elasticity to data warehousing
o   Outlining the Azure Stack Ecosystem which will help grow the Azure Ecosystem
o   And in case you missed it, these announcements are on top of the new innovations that were unveiled last week to deliver intelligent enterprise business apps to business users:
§  Microsoft AppSource, is our new destination for businesses to get line-of-business SaaS apps from Microsoft and our partners, and
§  Microsoft Dynamics 365 introduces a simplified, intuitive approach to business apps, with rich data visualization natively delivered by Power BI Embedded, which is now generally available

-        At WPC, it was announced that Office 365 is now empowering over 70 million people each month in companies of all sizes! In addition, we announced:
o   Skype for Business will provide more opportunities for partner success, with the Skype Operations Framework, an end-to-end planning, deployment and operations methodology for partners.
o   Facebook likes Office 365! Facebook CIO Tim Campos outlines in a blog why Facebook has chosen Office 365 to empower its 13,000 employees globally

-        We also announced new subscription options for Windows 10 and Surface for Businesses:
o   The new Windows 10 Enterprise E3 for CSP which will be available later this year at just US$7 a seat per month for the first time through a Cloud Solution Provider
o   Introducing Surface as a Service Program where Cloud Solution Providers (who are also Surface Authorized Distributors) can offer Surface devices through a managed service to all resellers and customers, alongside managed cloud services, Office 365, Windows 10 and relevant ISV software
o   Expanded the Surface Enterprise Initiative with new partnerships with IBM and Booz Allen Hamilton.
