1-Net & Burst Networks Sign Agreement on Data Center Operations Project in Myanmar
Supporting Myanmar’s ICT growth with 1-Net’s data center operational expertise
SINGAPORE, 10th January 2017 - 1-Net announced today that it has signed an agreement with Burst Networks to provide operational support for their Uptime Institute certified Tier IV data center at Thilawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ) on the outskirts of Yangon, the largest city in Myanmar.
This collaboration will enable 1-Net to extend its extensive data center knowledge and capabilities to design, develop and provide 24 X 7 operation support to Burst Network’s new data center in Myanmar. The aim is to support Burst Networks by providing the highest level of data center security, network best practices and reliability when they deliver their services to their clients’ mission-critical operations. This facility is Myanmar’s first Tier IV data center certified Uptime Institute; which is the most stringent specification in terms of redundancy, fault tolerance and availability that yields service availability of 99.995%.
“We are glad to work with Burst Networks to support their data center operations in Myanmar. It is 1-Net’s inaugural collaboration in Myanmar and we see the immense potential for data center business in this emerging market. We are confident that we can support Burst Networks to operate this facility with our extensive years of experience in data center operations,” said Mr. Wong Ka Vin, Managing Director of 1-Net Singapore Pte Ltd.
“We believe that good data center operations are as critical as the facility’s infrastructure, therefore we have chosen 1-Net to support the operation of our world-class facility. With 1-Net, we know we are in very good hands given the team’s expertise in the data center industry. As Myanmar is drawing the interest of investors from around the world, we recognize the importance to build up the network infrastructure in the region to benefit our customers in the long run.” said Mr. Daniel R Michener, CEO of Burst Networks.
1-Net and Burst Networks are also developing network connectivity between 1-Net’s data center in Singapore and Burst’s data center in Myanmar. The two data centers will be connected by a network operated by Campana Group Pte Ltd, which consists of two direct and diverse submarine and terrestrial routes to provide a robust nationwide network to their customers.
“This high-speed datacenter corridor is unprecedented and will support many value-added services on this platform. With this seamless connection and one network model both Burst and 1-Net are able to achieve the lowest latency and highest quality link for their customers,” said Dr. Myo Ohn, CEO of Campana Group.
