Intuit Singapore to Launch Self-Employed Mobile App
Intuit Opens Exclusive Customer Beta Test for Software to Help Freelancers Stay on Top of Business Expenses and Manage Finances Effortlessly
SINGAPORE – March 6, 2017 – Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU), the global leader of small business management and accounting software solutions, today announced plans to launch QuickBooks Self-Employed, a new way for the Singaporean self-employed community to stay on top of business expenses. The company also opened registration for customers to sign up for an exclusive beta testing opportunity to share the challenges they face and provide feedback on how the product can help them.
Scheduled to be available later this month, QuickBooks Self-Employed is a mobile app targeted to help the growing freelance workforce. The app features effortless expense tracking, invoicing, and helps users get better insight into their financials including net income and tax obligations throughout the year.
According to the Manpower Ministry’s 2015 Labour Force Report, 14 percent of Singapore’s workforce are self-employed. A growing part of this is the on-demand economy, which in Singapore includes global platforms such as Uber and Airbnb as well as strong local market players PandaBed, GrabTaxi and Redmart.
“The Singaporean self-employed community will benefit from a service that allows them to effectively stay on top of business expenses and make better financial decisions,” said Ashley Millbern, head of global expansion at Intuit. “We know that these workers face unique challenges compared to traditional, full-time employees. QuickBooks Self-Employed will help them get organized and simplify their financial tasks, untangle business and personal expenses, and help them get ready for tax time, a task that used take hours can now be done in just minutes, and right in the palm of their hand.”
QuickBooks Self-Employed Delivers Easy Year-Round Tracking
QuickBooks Self-Employed offers many unique features designed specifically for the needs of self-employed workers:
· Track expenses on the go: Many freelancers struggle to keep their personal and business income and expenses separate. Business and personal expenses are easily categorized by swiping left or right on your phone, so it’s easy and fast to claim every deduction.
· Tax savings are a snap: Keeping thorough records and documentation is needed to maximize tax deductions. QuickBooks Self-Employed helps increase tax savings when receipts are linked to expenses through the app. In the United States, users found an average of $4,340 in tax savings per year.
· Get paid faster with effortless invoicing: Getting paid fast is the life blood of any business. QuickBooks Self-Employed helps create and send invoices effortlessly through the app on the go, and it’s easy to know when to follow up with customers by seeing when the invoice has been viewed.
· Picture the Profits: Snap and store receipts, manage expenses, and invoices all in one place, allowing users to access strategic cash-flow insights in real-time, instantly seeing how much they’re earning and where their money is going.
QuickBooks Self-Employed launched in the United States in 2015, and is fast becoming a critically important solution for the growing global self-employed workforce. Currently 180,000 customers are using the product in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK – up from 50,000 just one year ago.
