Singapore — December 14, 2017 The Razer 2017 Vainglory World Championship, the biggest event of the year for Vainglory, the world’s leading mobile esport, kicks off today at the Singapore Kallang Theatre. The four-day tournament, lasting from 14 to 17 December 2017, will feature the top 12 teams from around the globe, with familiar names such as last year’s champion ROX Armada, fellow Korean team Ace Gaming, North American champions Cloud9, global esports brand Team SoloMid, and Singapore’s very own Team Impunity battle it out for the world champion spot and prize pool of over 140,000 USD.[1]

“We are delighted to return to Singapore, to where it all began since the beta of Vainglory was launched in Singapore,” said Kristian Segerstrale, CEO of Super Evil Megacorp. “The Razer 2017 Vainglory World Championships also represents a chance for us to get in give back to the community, and impart our experience in esports to the next generation of talents. We will continue to work closely with partners such as Singapore Cybersports & Online Gaming Association (SCOGA) in Singapore, to deliver education on esports through courses and seminars.”

“International competition has never been more intense as this year’s Worlds,” said Evan Denbaum, General Manager of Esports and Editorial at Super Evil Megacorp. “Esports fans all over the world will have their eyes on Singapore to see which team is crowned as the Vainglory world champions.”

The Group Stage will start on 14 December at 12pm where the 12 teams will battle to an eight-team quarterfinals bracket on Day Two, followed by the top 4 teams competing on Day Three. The Grand Finals will be played by the two best teams live on stage on the last day of the Championship.

Day Two of the tournament will also see Super Evil Megacorp’s developers engage local students in an esports seminar, to share their experiences and hand out advice to budding esports talents. Participants will also get to witness the global unveiling of Vainglory 5V5 on the final day of the Championship.

Fans from around the world can watch the live-stream of the Vainglory World Championships on Vainglory’s Twitch and YouTube channels, and on eGG Network (available in Singapore on SingtelTV, Malaysia on AstroTV, Philippines on BEAMTV and Tribe).
