Android Authority has been reporting on the performance of two of the fastest ARM processors currently available on the market. There have been many CPU tests between the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and Nvidia Tegra 4 we've seen that there is minimal difference between the overall performance of these two chips, However, a recent GPU GFXBench Benchmark test, it was revealed that Snapdragon 800 GPU is in fact much faster than Tegra 4. It's a disgrace for a company working on discrete class GPU products.
GFXBench is a dedicated GPU performance testing software. Based on the screenshots shown, a Samsung Galaxy S4SHV-E330S had a result of 26.3FPS while a Nvidia Tegra 4 only managed 20.6FPS. From this test, Snapdragon 800's GPU is in fact significantly faster by about 28%.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 has a built in Adreno 330GPU. How will that fair to the current Exynos 5420 with a built in hexa core Mali T-628 GPU from Samsung? The performance race in mobile processor's GPU is getting pretty exciting.
