19 March 2014 - Twitter launched a new Tweet Tool to commemorate Twitter's upcoming eighth anniversary.
On Twitter's Official Blog, VP Marketing and Communications Gabriel Stricker released a website which allows users to search the first Tweet of their friends, favourite movie star, or their own. Users are also encouraged to use the hashtag #FirstTweet to celebrate the occasion.
Twitter is an online social networking and microblogging platform that allows users to send short messages of 140 characters. It was created in March 2006, and since then, it has gained worldwide popularity. It is estimated that there are more than 500 million registered users and has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange in November 2013.
