Xbox today announced an update to Gears of War 4 that introduces
two of the most popular maps in franchise history, 280 new Cards to collect,
and hotly requested community features that further improve the Gears of War 4
online experience.
Now available to season pass holders and all players on 17
January, Gears of War 4 brings back two fan-favourite maps, “Blood Drive” and “Clocktower”,
redesigned to more closely align with the aesthetic and themes of the new game.
Along with new maps, 280 new customization cards will be up for
grabs, including familiar characters, Zombie Minh and Armored Anya. Gamers will
also be able to collect 260 new Weapon Skins across 13 full weapon skin sets –
including an animated Lightning Skin, and the Chillin weapon set.
The latest title update also adds quit penalties through the new
matchmaking timeout system that punishes those for leaving the fight early. The
Join In Progress feature, however, gives gamers the flexibility to rejoin the
battle for a short time.
