Major IT brands join hands to support Newstead Technologies’ second on-site
charity auction - 20 laptops up for bids starting at $199 each
Singapore, March 8, 2013 –– Join in the excitement and place your bids for brand new laptops all for charity this April. Newstead Technologies today announced that it will be holding its second multi-brand laptop charity auction, Bid to Give on April 6 and April 7, 2013, 5.30pm to 7pm at Jurong Point Shopping Centre, Main Atrium, Level 1. A total of 20 laptops will be up for bids from just $199 each and all proceeds will go to Newstead Technologies’ adopted charity – The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF).
Newstead Technologies launched its first Bid to Give charity auction in April 2011. The highest bid for a single laptop went as high as $1,759 and a total of $50,000 was raised for SPMF. “We were deeply encouraged by the response during our first charity auction and decided to bring it back this year. We hope more people will come forward with their bids for charity and have fun at the auction too,” said Evelyn Chua, Chief Marketing Officer, Newstead Technologies.

SPMF helps children from low-income families by providing them with pocket money for school and regular coaching programmes for English and current affairs knowledge. “We are very happy that Newstead Technologies will be supporting our cause again this year. Many parents from low income families struggle to provide for their children and the support from loyal supporters like Newstead goes a long way,” said Martina Wong, General Manager, The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

Interested participants can register for Bid to Give at www.newstead.com.sg/bidtogive2013  from March 11 to March 24, 2013. Participants can look forward to bid for laptops from leading PC brands including Acer, Asus, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, Lenovo, Panasonic, Samsung and Toshiba.

“Going to school is one of the fundamentals of a child’s life. To see and hear how many children are struggling with their basic school needs make us, at Newstead Technologies want to do more for the society. We would like to say a big thank you to our partners for coming on board to support our charity drive this year” said Evelyn.
