Even before the launch of Windows 8, Microsoft Japan has already thought of a great idea to market the new operating system. What else? They planned to make use of cute anime girls as mascots for the Operating System. And that was what they did.
Microsoft has created two cute characters for their new operating system known as Yuu Madobe and Ai Madobe. These two characters are voiced by famous anime vocal artiste Nishi Asuka and Nao Tamura.
Recently, Microsoft started another limited edition Windows 8 pro campaign for the local market, featuring both Yuu and Ai. There are only 1500 sets available which sells at around 19,480yen (245SGD). The limited edition contains the DSP version of Windows 8 Pro (64bit), an either Yuu or Ai decorated Microsoft mouse and additional gifts .
The limited edition Windows 8 Pro comes either character. The only difference is the mouse found in the box which is customized differently featuring either of the girls. Additionally, the package also comes with Windows 8 merchandize like lanyard as well.
Microsoft Japan will be having a Windows 8 concert on 15th June. Both vocalists for Yuu and Ai will be singing live at the event as well.
