Microsoft today
highlighted that more than a third of qualified PCs in Singapore are at risk of
missing out on the free Windows 10 upgrade offer, which will end on this
Friday (July 29).
According
to web traffic analysis tool StatCounter, 36.3 percent of PCs in Singapore are still
running on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, both of which are eligible for the free
Windows 10 upgrade offer.
Microsoft is
encouraging all qualified PCs to upgrade to Windows 10 immediately, before the
free upgrade offer ends.
This is especially
urgent with the impending Windows 10 Anniversary Update about
to roll out from August 2.
The Windows 10 Anniversary Update is a free update that will bring a slew of
new features and enhancements, including stronger security, amazing notetaking
capabilities, enhanced power efficiency and a smarter Cortana.
After July 29,
users who missed the free upgrade offer will have to purchase a new Windows 10
product license to keep their devices up-to-speed, or purchase a new modern PC
with Windows 10 pre-installed.
