Made-in-Singapore games return to GameStart Asia 2017
New and upcoming titles to look out for include BattleSky Brigade, Buglords and Cat Quest
Singapore, 4 October 2017 – Singapore’s leading games convention, GameStart Asia 2017 is back in full force and will feature more than 12 of the best local indie game developers. They will be showcasing their exciting new games at the Singapore Games Pavilion which is organised by the International Game Developers Association of Singapore (IGDA) and supported by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).
Made-in-Singapore games are returning to GameStart for its fourth consecutive annual run this year. Familiar studios such as Witching Hour Studios, Gattai Games, Ratloop Studios and PD Design will be joined by relative newcomers Joysteak, Neo Impossible Bosses and The Gentlebros.
Allan Simonsen, president of IGDA Singapore said: “The local games industry has come some ways over the years, and we can see that with the quality of games being produced. Iconic indie titles like Rocketbirds, Masquerada, and Stifled have shown global appeal, and bodes well for the Made-in-Singapore brand.”
Many of these local games studios are incubated at PIXEL Studios, a first of its kind collaborative space where technology and media converge to cater to content creators and game developers. Officially launched by IMDA in November 2016, PIXEL Studios aims to build a community of creators and create opportunities for collaboration across the creative ecosystem. Current studios currently housed at PIXEL Studios includes BattleBrew Productions, Gattai Games and Ratloop Studios.
