vivo has launched the X500 Series in Singapore, comprising the X500 and X500 Pro Max. Both phones put their strongest emphasis on long-range photography, pairing ZEISS-branded telephoto cameras with optional external telephoto extenders.

The vivo X500 is priced at S$1,999, while the X500 Pro Max costs S$2,499. The specifications and performance figures below are supplied by vivo; TTR has not independently tested either device.

X500 uses a 64MP ZEISS APO telephoto camera

The standard X500 is built around a 64-megapixel ZEISS APO telephoto camera with a 72mm-equivalent focal length. vivo also offers an optional 200mm-equivalent telephoto extender for users who need additional optical reach.

vivo equips the phone with its Dimensity 9600M platform and a 7,500mAh battery. The company lists 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. Charging speed and battery endurance will vary with settings, usage and environmental conditions.

X500 Pro Max steps up to a 200MP telephoto sensor

The X500 Pro Max moves to a 200-megapixel ZEISS APO telephoto camera with an 85mm-equivalent focal length. Its optional ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra reaches a quoted 400mm-equivalent focal length, positioning the model for distant subjects such as stage performances, wildlife and sports.

The Pro Max uses vivo's Dimensity 9600 Pro platform and a 7,800mAh battery. vivo also lists native 4K video recording at up to 240 frames per second. Actual recording modes, thermal behaviour and storage requirements should be confirmed against the retail software and final device documentation.

Camera reach is the main distinction

Both phones are pitched as flagship camera devices, but the Pro Max's higher-resolution telephoto sensor and longer optional extender are the clearest differences. The X500 offers a lower entry price while retaining a dedicated telephoto system and a large battery.

The external extenders are optional accessories rather than built-in lenses. Buyers should therefore confirm local bundle contents, accessory pricing and compatibility before purchase.
