We were all waiting for this to happen back in April, where we covered the launch of the P20, P20 Pro as well as the long-awaited Huawei Mate RS. Available at S$2,298 in black, with the glossy red sadly missing, the latest baby of Porsche and Huawei looks to keep their lineup of Porsche Design Huawei smartphones up-to-date. It comes with a stunning 3D curved body and a 2K OLED screen that lives up to the "sport-ish" RS (Race Sport) in its name. To take advantage of the glass black, there is also wireless charging built-in to the device!
The Huawei Mate RS features the same triple-camera setup as the P20 Pro, bringing with it the best score of 109 in DxOMark. This means unrivaled camera performance that does not bring shame to its premium price tag. It also houses two types of fingerprint sensor, one at the rear and one in the display. Yes, you heard it right, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner in its 6.0" 18:9 FullView display.
When it comes to consuming content, the Mate RS is outfitted with Dual SLS (Super Linear System) speakers that uses DOLBY ATMOS technology for an immersive surround sound experience. By laying the device on a flat surface, audio is played in a way that simulates a 360° playback. Speaking of media, it contains a whopping 256GB of internal storage for your data hoarding needs. Not to mention, IP67 water and dust resistance is present to protect it from everyday torture.
